Last week I launched Machete 3.1, a new major version with lots of tiny improvements and an extensive code revision. I’ve taken great care not to break existing sites so you can update without any worries. These are the main highlights of the new version:
Color highlight in the code editor
The custom code editor now uses CodeMirror, the default code highlighter included in WordPress
New styles for the cookie bar
Although Machete Cookie bar is easy to customize, the default skins are not very sexy. I’ve added three new styles, including a very special one… better see it by yourself.
New import/export module
Many of you asked for this. Machete settings now can be backed up and restored, a great way of copying your configuration from one site to another.
Contact Form 7 deserved some love
It might be a little outdated, but Contact Form 7 is still the most used contact form plugin for WordPress. Contact form submissions can now be tracked with Google Analytics, and I’ve added the option to block CF7’s “refill” script, one of it’s main annoyances.
Major code refactor
I’ve radically changed the module structure, modules are lighter and more isolated now. That means faster site for you and easier integration of new modules for me.
